The Winter Garden Velvet Cushion Cover

A pale background gives every curling stem and colourful bloom room to unfold. There’s a pleasing sense of movement across this design, like a botanical illustration that has quietly wandered beyond its borders.

Handmade in India, the cover combines a 100% cotton velvet front with a reverse described by the maker as cotton linen. Piped edges frame the pattern, and a zip closure allows the insert to be removed for washing. Each cut of the fabric captures a different part of the design.

Use it to bring a lighter note to a dark sofa, or layer it with warm neutrals, rust and another botanical print. A plain woven cushion alongside will give the velvet and intricate pattern space to catch the eye.

Room for one more flower. There usually is.
